In The Press: GOP Lincoln Day Dinner

100_0864The Pike County Press has published an article about the 2010 Lincoln Day Dinner in Pike County that was hosted by the Pike County Young Republicans and Matamoras Republican Club.

Promising a return to the populist roots of the party, candidates for the U.S. Senate, Lieutenant Governor, and the US House of Representatives rallied their Pike County troops Tuesday at Matamoras’ Riverview Inn during the GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner.

In introducing Toomey, Pike County Young Republican Chairman Chris Decker said while organizers expected 50 or 60 people to show up for the dinner, over 170 actually came. He took that as a sign that the political tide is turning back in the Republicans favor for this election cycle, and said the people assembled for the dinner were key players in that fight. “We have to get (US Representative) Chris Carney out of Washington,” He said, “And the man who is going to do that is sitting in this room tonight.”
